VenaSeal™ Closure System

VenaSeal Closure System Provides Safe, Gentle Relief from Varicose Veins

The VenaSeal Closure System is a highly sought-after varicose veins treatment in the Central Florida. Varicose veins are the bulging, rope-like veins that form as a result of the backwards flow of blood between vein valves, which is the main cause of venous insufficiency. Now available at Vascular Vein Centers, VenaSeal is our first line of treatment for varicose veins and symptoms of venous insufficiency.

What Is VenaSeal?

VenaSeal is an FDA-approved, nonthermal vein treatment used to safely and gently close incompetent saphenous (superficial) veins of the legs. Clinical studies have demonstrated that VenaSeal is both safe and effective for the treatment of chronic venous insufficiency and venous reflux disease. Sought after for its effectiveness in the treatment of varicose veins, VenaSeal eliminates bulging varicose veins and the symptoms of venous disease through the endovenous application of a non-thermal medical adhesive. Comparatively, most patients find VenaSeal a more comfortable treatment since bruising is rare and recovery times are much faster than with alternative vein treatments.

How Does VenaSeal Work?

VenaSeal works by the injection of a safe, FDA-approved medical surgical adhesive (Cyanoacrylate) into the great or small saphenous vein through a catheter, which permanently seals off a diseased vein. Once sealed, blood flow is immediately rerouted through nearby healthy veins. Patients find they have minimal bruising and faster recovery times compared to other vein treatments. It is also less invasive than laser or radiofrequency ablation because it does not require the injection of fluid containing an anesthetic (numbing) agent around the vein.

Is VenaSeal the Best Vein Treatment for You?

Whether the VenaSeal Closure System is right for you is dependent on the course of treatment outlined by your vein doctor. However, VenaSeal is often our first line of treatment for patients suffering from varicose veins and venous insufficiency as it helps speed up the course of treatment since it is designed to reduce recovery time. In fact, most patients can return to normal activity immediately after the procedure. Even patients with jobs involving sitting or are standing for a long period of time find they can return to work with no significant discomfort.
